Obituary

Roger W. Leffler, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on January 5, 2024, at Sterling Care, Bel Air, with his wife and daughters by his side. He was 70 years old.

Mr. Leffler was born to the late M. Gordon Leffler and Leola E. (Pierce) Leffler at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. He graduated in 1972, from Havre de Grace High School. During and after high school he worked in construction for various companies. He worked at Crown Cork and Seal as a draftsman from 1974-1980, M. S. Willett Company, the Slaysman Company and later for Frito Lay in sales. Mr. Leffler served in the U.S. Army from 1985 -1988. He worked at D & L Manufacturing, who made the seats for Chrysler as the coordinator at the Chrysler plant and was eventually hired by Chrysler where he retired from Daimler Chrysler in December 2008. He later worked part time for Amanda's Flowers and Gifts.

Mr. Leffler is survived by his wife, Cynthia A. Farro Leffler, his daughters Michelle R. Frelich (Chris) of Elkton, MD, and Colleen E. Ball (Brian) of Cockeysville; grandchildren Jacob Otley, Ryan, Lily and Luke Hawkins and Oakley Ball; brother Gordon A Leffler (Suzanne) and sister Suzanne Leffler Albanese (Raymond).
Roger loved his two dogs Rusty and Nailor. He would take "his boys" (he got them for his daughter Colleen) for long walks and car rides especially, to watch the sunrise. He spent time in the yard redesigning and enlarging the ponds and flower beds, his goal was to not have to mow, this was before the no mow yard was a thing. Roger enjoyed the beach, especially Wildwood New Jersey even if it was just a day trip. He loved reminiscing of his time growing up in Havre de Grace, visiting his Aunt Carrie's (Kelly Beverage Company), his grandmother Leffler and her store on Washington Street, going on trips with his cousins, playing all over town with the "gang", being a Sea Scout and their adventures, hanging in the bottom of the park with friends and their cars, playing ball with the Medics, driving cross country twice and being part of the construction crew that built the addition on Harford Memorial.

A Private service will be held at the Angel Hill Cemetery, Havre de Grace, MD.

Contributions may be made in his memory to Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, 100 Lafayette Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
