Obituary

Ronald "Buddy" David Lilly, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on December 21, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 4, 1949, in Glen White, West Virginia, Ronald lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication to his family and country.

Buddy proudly served in the United States Army from October 31, 1968, to October 4, 1971, during the Vietnam War, where he was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 2 OS Bars, for his commitment and bravery. Buddy then joined the Army National Guard. His patriotism shone through in every aspect of his life, and he was a cherished member and past commander of American Legion Post 47. Buddy was actively involved in the community, participating in various golf leagues, including the American Legion Golf and the Aberdeen Proving Ground Golf Leagues, and sharing his love for sports as a Little League Baseball and Softball coach.

Professionally, Buddy dedicated his career to quality assurance, contributing his expertise and diligence at the Edgewood Proving Ground. He was also known as the owner of Bud Lilly's One Hour Photo, a venture that allowed him to connect with his community through photography.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sandra Lilly; his sons, Mark Lilly (Holly Brogan), and Adam Lilly (Sammi Brown); his daughter Abby Evans (Noah); his grandchildren, Austin Lilly, Ariana Lilly, and Brady Evans; his sisters Kay Garcia and Victoria Henderson. His legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to honor Buddy's memory at a public viewing on December 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., The service will commence at 12:00 PM, where we will come together to celebrate a life well-lived, filled with devotion to family and service to his country.

In this difficult time, let us remember Buddy not only for the roles he played in our lives but also for the warmth and joy he brought to each of us. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.

Buddy was preceded in death by: His father, Osburn Lilly, mother, Glyda Lilly,and sister, Lisa Robinson.
