Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Ryan William Wilson, a beloved father, son, brother, husband, and friend, who left us on March 27, 2026, at just 30 years old. He was born on November 9, 1995, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Ryan grew up in Havre de Grace, where his love for family, friends, and community flourished.

Ryan worked at Ferrell Fuel, where he found his passion maintaining the vehicles, property and so much more. He loved working with his hands and could fix just about anything. He approached life the same way taking on challenges head-on, with determination and hard work.

Outside of work, Ryan felt most at home on the water or at the beach, soaking up the sun with the people he loved most. He was deeply devoted to his sons and his community, spending much of his time coaching at Havre de Grace Recreation Wrestling. He brought patience, positivity, and encouragement to every practice and match.

Ryan was also a talented athlete in his younger years, playing lacrosse, soccer, and wrestled at Havre de Grace High School. His energy was contagious, and he had a way of lifting up everyone around him.

He is survived by his sons, Cru Ryan Wilson and Camden Smith; his father, David Lee Wilson; his mother, Theresa "Terri" Foley Wilson; his sister, Rachel Wilson; and his wife, Eva Villareal Wilson. He is also survived by his grandparents, William and Carolyn Foley, Mary Wilson, Linda Wilson and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester Wilson. Ryan was the son-in-law of Ferdinand Villareal and Renee Vaught, and the brother-in-law of Keenan and Mitchell Villareal. His family was his pride and joy because he was a family man in every sense and they meant everything to him.

Ryan lived a life defined by love, dedication, and meaningful connections. He will be deeply missed.

A public visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2:30 - 4:30 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., A celebration of Ryan's life will follow at 4:30 PM, where family and friends will come together to share memories, honor his legacy, and support one another during this difficult time.

Ryan will be fondly remembered with love and admiration by all who knew him.

On behalf of our family, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended Ryan's service and surrounded us with your love and support during this incredibly difficult time. We are especially grateful to those who participated in the service, and to Zach Pinkney for delivering such a heartfelt eulogy. Your flowers, cards, meals, gifts, and countless acts of kindness have meant more to us than words can express.

Ryan loved wrestling. It was more than just a sport to him—it was a family, a community, and a place where he built lifelong friendships and learned lessons that helped shape the person he became. As we searched for a meaningful way to honor Ryan's memory, we knew we would want to give back to the sport that meant so much to him. We are honored to establish the Ryan Wilson Junior Wrestling Scholarship Fund, which will provide financial assistance to young wrestlers who may need help with registration fees, tournament expenses, or other costs associated with participating in the Havre de Grace Junior Warriors Wrestling program.

It is our hope that this scholarship will help ensure every child has the opportunity to experience the same friendships, confidence, and love for wrestling that Ryan did. In recent years, Ryan had the joy of watching his own children step onto the mat, continuing the family's wrestling tradition. Wrestling remained a constant throughout his life—as an athlete, a coach, and a father—and establishing this scholarship is a meaningful way to carry forward the legacy of kindness, mentorship, and dedication that he shared with so many.

The Christopher Xavier Boyd Foundation is in memory of a wrestler that I coached in the high school program that passed a short time after his graduation. The foundation provides scholarships for graduating high school wrestlers. His parents have graciously provided their support to allow us to administer these "scholarships" through their foundation. We are deeply grateful to the Boyd family for their generosity and guidance that will help us continue to honor Ryan for years to come.

Several people have asked if there is a way to honor Ryan's memory. While your prayers and support have already been an incredible gift to our family, those who wish to make a contribution may do so by making a donation to the Ryan Wilson Junior Wrestling Scholarship Fund through any of the following:
