The family of Sally Joyce DiMauro lovingly announces her peaceful passing on July 9, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 23, 1933, Sally lived a long, remarkable life defined by her devotion to family, her vibrant spirit, and her unwavering sense of humor.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Sally was one of seven children, growing up alongside her beloved siblings—Ella, Billy, Delphia, Joanne, Jacqueline, and her brother, Donald. During her high school years in Aberdeen, Maryland, she met the love of her life, Mario DiMauro, sparking a romance that would blossom into a marriage lasting over 65 years.

After graduating, Sally began her career as a telephone operator at the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company, where she worked for more than 35 years. Her warmth, quick wit, and lively personality made her a treasured colleague and a loyal friend, with many of those friendships lasting well beyond her years on the job.

Sally was a devoted wife to Mario, who preceded her in death just five months earlier in February 2025. She was a loving mother to her children, Terrie Harris and Michael DiMauro, and a devoted mother-in-law to her son-in-law, Steve, and a proud and joyful grandmother to Rachel Harris and Ryan Harris, who brought endless joy to her life.

A natural extrovert with a remarkable wit, Sally was a gifted storyteller who could hold a room with her humor, warmth, and charm. She enjoyed traveling in her retirement years, and later took great pride in tending her garden and preparing delicious meals—traditions passed down from her own mother and lovingly shared with her family. Her home was always open, warm, and filled with the smell of something good on the stove.

Even in her late 80s, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Sally's resilient spirit shone through. Though her memory faded, her body remained strong, and her joyful nature continued to brighten the lives of those around her.

Sally will be remembered not only for the love and stability she gave her family, but for her lively, free-spirited nature, and the laughter she brought into every room. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, family, and boundless affection.

A private family service will be held at Zellman's Funeral Home in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Sally will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Mario, at Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
