Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loretta Shalonn Lawson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on May 25, 1951, in Baltimore, MD, Shalonn lived a life devoted to her family and community.

Shalonn and her husband, Charles Lawson, owned and operated Java By the Bay for 16 years, a beloved gathering place in Havre de Grace. She was a dedicated Realtor at Integrity Real Estate, where her commitment to her clients was unparalleled. Shalonn also made significant contributions to her community, serving as Controller for Western Auto and Sheraton in Aberdeen for many years and establishing the Winter Wonderland Committee in Havre de Grace, a testament to her love for the holiday season and community spirit.

A devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Shalonn found joy in her faith and enjoyed sharing that joy with others. She cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren, and her home was always filled with laughter and love. She had a passion for watercolors and reading, hobbies that provided her with tranquility and happiness. Shalonn's nurturing spirit, kindness, and compassion touched the lives of many, and her legacy will forever live in the hearts of those she loved.
