Stanley C. Scibek, of Havre de Grace, MD, died August 2, 2015. He was 97.
Mr. Scibek was born in Rockville, CT, to Teodor and Marcianna Scibek.
He was a Navy veteran and served during World War II. He participated in the European-African and Asiatic-Pacific Campaigns. He earned the Purple Heart, the Presidential Unit Citation, and eight Battle Stars. Mr. Scibek retired from the U.S. Navy in 1960, as a Chief Warrant Officer. He then joined the staff at University of Maryland until retiring in 1975.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Grace E. Scibek, three sons and their spouses, James and Margaret Scibek of Goldvein, VA, Stanley Scibek of Wichita Falls, TX, and Michael and Claudia Scibek of Bear, DE. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Sue Scibek. He was the grandfather of Jennifer Scibek of Richmond, VA, Richard Scibek of TX, and Ronald Scibek and Matthew Scibek of Wichita Falls, TX. He was the great-grandfather of Marcianna Grace Scibek, and brother of Edward Scibek.
