Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sue Beverly Lingenfelter, a cherished mother, friend, and beloved member of the Havre de Grace community, who departed this life on February 7, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on July 7, 1939, in Havre de Grace, MD, Sue's warmth and compassion touched all who knew her.

A devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Havre de Grace, Sue found joy in singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. Her kind spirit radiated through her numerous contributions to the church and the community. She also enjoyed close connections with her classmates, sharing fond memories during monthly lunches with the Havre de Grace High School Class of 1957.

Sue's professional life saw her working at C&P Telephone, Whitt's Jewelers, and Lyon's Pharmacy. Beyond her work, she was known for baking beautiful cakes and creating delightful dishes that brought family and friends together. Her passion for photography, poetry, and storytelling showcased her creative spirit, leaving behind a beautiful tapestry of memories for her loved ones.

Affectionately known as "Momma Sue," she dedicated her life to her family. She also found companionship in her faithful cat, Sunny, who brought her much joy.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Sue not just for her passing, but for the love, kindness, and joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. The family asks your perform a randon act of kindness in her memory.

She is survived by her son, Glen E. Lingenfelter, daughter-in-law, Megan, grandchildren, Brittany, Bethany, and Ava, great-grandchildren, Zaref, Isla, and Aria, and sister Catherine Schnell.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lingenfelter, son, Douglas Lingenfelter, grandson, Andrew Lingenfelter, father, William Sampson, mother, Catherine Sampson, siblings, James E. Sampson, Shirley Mann, Evelyn Hendrix, Samuel Sampson, and William Sampson.
