Taylor "Ted" Miller
Taylor "Ted" Miller, 88 of Havre de Grace, died suddenly on April 3, 2009 at Harford Memorial Hospital.
Born, January 15, 1921 in Cotton Gin, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Mayme White Miller and Hugh Miller.
Ted enlisted in the United States Army in 1939 where he served until retirement in 1965. During his honorable 26 year military career, he served in WWII with tours in Germany and Hawaii and completed his assignment at Kirk Army Hospital at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. After retiring from the Army, Ted worked for the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense at Aberdeen Proving Ground where he retired in 1985.
Ted was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 47, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council 2002 and a member of the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum where he once served on the Board of Directors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mabel Miller Bailey, his wife of 55 years, Ruth Armstrong Miller and their eldest son, John Taylor Miller.
He is survived by two sons, James Patrick Miller and Joseph Armstrong Miller, daughter in-law Belinda Jane Miller, two grandchildren Terran Michelle Miller and Taylor Joseph Miller, sister in-law Nellie Armstrong Lisanti, all of Havre de Grace and sister Francis Miller Barnes of Kentucky.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Father William J. O'Brien. Pallbearers were Paul Armstrong, Michael Armstrong, Jeffery Gordon, Steven Gordon, Bobby Jobes, and Joey Jobes. Final interment is at Mt. Erin Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 47, 501 St. John Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078.
