Texie Sallie Cheek of Havre de Grace, MD passed away peacefully at the blessed age of 102 years. She was the devoted wife of the late Minor Shields Cheek.

Texie was born in Southlin, VA to the late Robert and Minnie (Burgess) Jordan.

She was the adoring mother of Bobby W. Cheek of Aberdeen, MD, Billy D. Cheek of Danville, VA, James K. Cheek of Albertson, NC, Patsy C. Johnson of Havre de Grace, MD and was predeceased by her sons Jackie L. Cheek, Wayne R. Cheek and Minor "Sonny" Cheek, Jr.
She was the loving Grandmother of Twenty-seven, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother of many. She was also predeceased by her two brothers and two sisters.

Texie worked for many years at the Dan River Mill, the Senior Center in Danville, Va, and as a Social Worker for the City of Danville, VA. She enjoyed reading and was active in her church in Danville. She enjoyed making many southern dishes. She is survived by her beloved "Chessy"

A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM, at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA, 510 Church Avenue, Danville, VA 24541 on May 20th, 2017 at 2 P.M.
