With hearts heavy with grief and love, we announce the passing of Tyler Christian Potter of Havre de Grace, Maryland, who left this world on July 13, 2026, at the age of 30. Born July 8, 1996, in Seaford, Delaware, Tyler was a remarkable soul whose warmth, generosity, and steadfast devotion defined every relationship he formed.
Tyler's greatest joy in life was the family he built with his beloved wife, Heidi M. Potter (Wagener), and their cherished daughter, Grace A. Potter. He was a devoted husband and a loving, playful father, always present with encouragement, laughter, and unwavering support. The partnership he shared with Heidi-a marriage built on true friendship and mutual strength-was a source of happiness and comfort for both. Tyler's love for his family was evident in every act, large and small, and he found his deepest fulfillment in the roles of husband and father.
He was the beloved son of Christy Silverstein and her husband, Dr. Louis Silverstein, and Terry Potter, who nurtured and guided him as he grew into the remarkable man he became. Tyler's family extended to his cherished sisters, Tara Beckwith and her husband, Trevor Beckwith, and Christa Carpenter and her husband, Michael Carpenter, whose shared memories from childhood to adulthood painted a portrait of closeness and unwavering support.
Tyler's legacy lives on through his cherished nieces and nephews: Ellis and Alden Beckwith, and Saylor, Callie, and Lincoln Carpenter. Each took joy and comfort in his playful humor and gentle guidance, the love he offered molding their hearts and lives in subtle, treasured ways.
His connection to generations past remained strong. Tyler carried with him the memory and teachings of his grandmother Jeanne Potter, a place of wisdom and comfort. And while he mourned the loss of his dearly departed grandparents, Ellis Potter, Nolan Farmer, and Peggy Farmer, their love and example were interwoven into the very fiber of his being.
Tyler was a gifted journeyman master plumber whose craftsmanship and dedication set him apart in his field. He poured his heart into his work, taking immense pride in every project, whether large or small. As a self-employed professional, Tyler built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues through his honesty, reliability, and attention to detail. His work was more than a job-it was a calling that reflected his strong character, tireless work ethic, and the same devotion he gave to his family and friends. Those who worked alongside Tyler admired not only his skills but the respect and kindness he showed to everyone he met. His legacy as a master of his trade and a man of true integrity will live on in every life he touched and every home he helped build.
Beyond his devotion to family and his craft, Tyler found joy and solace in the great outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished time spent hunting deer and other wildlife, casting a line fishing, and exploring nature's beauty in every season. Tyler's love for adventure was evident in his passion for riding motorcycles, feeling the freedom of the open road. These hobbies were not just pastimes-they were a reflection of his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and his desire to share memorable experiences with loved ones.
Throughout his days, Tyler's relationships defined his character. Whether through shared laughter at get-togethers, heartfelt conversations late into the night, or quiet acts of kindness and courage that left lasting impacts, he embodied selflessness and determination in all he undertook.
Tyler's time on this earth was far too brief, but the memories he gave-of love spoken aloud, time freely shared, and loyalty unseen but always felt-will endure. He will be remembered as a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose heart could hold the sorrows of others and whose joys multiplied among those he loved. In the stories his family tells, and in the lessons he imparted, Tyler's spirit will remain an ever-present comfort and blessing.
Tyler's kindness and loyalty were constants in the lives of his loved ones. His gentle spirit and generous heart left a mark on all who knew him. Though his time was far too brief, his legacy of compassion, integrity, and deep love will continue to inspire and comfort those he leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 15th, from 5-8 pm at Coakley's Pub to honor Tyler's memory
