Obituary

Victoria Lynne "Vickie" Hyde, 70, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on May 8, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, Vickie dedicated her life to caring for others. She served as an Occupational Health Technician at Kirk Army Clinic and was a proud member of the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

She started her volunteer EMS journey at Level Volunteer Fire Company August 2002 and was also an active member of Abingdon Fire Company for several years. In 2014, she joined the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps and has remained an active member of the Corps since that time, serving as EMS Sergeant and EMS Lieutenant. She was co-chair of the Food Truck Sunday committee and chair of R&R committee, and very active in Community Outreach, Ways and Means, Active Threat, and Special Events Committees. Her accolades over the years included:

· Outstanding Service Award - 2024 (she was very proud to receive this one)

· Top Ten Responder - 2019-2025

· Numerous Appreciation Awards

· 10-year Service Award

Vickie's 24 years of volunteer service spoke volumes about her character, her deep care for her community, and her dedication to helping those in need. She was incredibly proud to complete her EMT training in 2003, and she continued that drive by advancing her education to become a Paramedic in 2014.

Above all else, Vickie was devoted to her family. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Hyde III and the loving mother of Sara Smith (Michael), Anthony "A.J." Hyde IV, Rachel "Ray" Hyde, Justin Hyde, Ramone "Rome" Hawkins, and Tevan Hawkins. She was a proud grandmother to Emily Smith and Abigale "Abby" Smith, who brought her endless joy.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Leone and Betty Mae Thomason Leone. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Leone, and her sister, Susan Eppig.

Those who knew Vickie will remember her generous heart, her determination, and her unwavering willingness to help others. She never hesitated to step in when someone needed support, advice, or simply a listening ear. While she could be stubborn and strong-willed, it was those very qualities that fueled her commitment to the people she loved and the causes she believed in.

Vickie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and she believed that good food was at the heart of bringing people together. She loved cooking for others and showing her love through the meals she prepared. She dedicated countless hours to the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, where she formed deep friendships and found another family among her fellow volunteers. Whether at community events, on parade stand-bys, or gathered around a table with those she loved, Vickie found her greatest happiness in caring for others.

Vickie's love, strength, and kindness touched countless lives and will not be forgotten. Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Saturday, June 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Zellman's Funeral Home in Havre de Grace. A funeral service celebrating Vickie's life will be held on Sunday, June 14, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
