It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of William "Billy" Avery, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend on August 15, 2024.

Born on May 6, 1950, in New York, NY, to the late William and Josephine (Peterson) Avery. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years Mildred Avery and his children he adored Shante Avery, Sean Avery, Shatese Avery, and Sharod Avery. He was also a cherished grandfather to Anthony Avery, Xavier Avery, Sean Avery, Jordan Avery, Mia Avery, Sharod Avery, Jr., and Cali Avery, and adoring great-grandfather Ava Avery. He was the beloved brother to Linda Parker.

William "Billy" was known for his deep love for basketball, always cheering on his favorite teams or players with enthusiasm and immersing himself in the sport he adored. His love for the sport mirrored the excitement he brought into the lives of those around him.

A dedicated Currier in the Logistics industry, William "Billy" worked tirelessly at Wolverine Logistics, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with. His work ethic and perseverance set a shining example for those around him. Despite his busy schedule, he always made time for his family, creating lasting memories and instilling values that will be cherished for generations to come.

The celebration of William's "Billy" life will be held on August 23, 2024. The public viewing will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1 P.M. with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 pm at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Immediately following services an interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.

This gathering serves as a tribute to the remarkable life that William "Billy" lived, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments shared with those he held dear.

In his honor, let us remember William "Billy" Avery as a beacon of light, a pillar of strength, and a man who truly exemplified the meaning of family and community. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
