William Alexander Russell, Jr., of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on February 26, 2022. He was 75.

Mr. Russell was born in Havre de Grace, MD, to William Alexander Russell and Margaret Scott Russell. He was the devoted husband of 50 years to Lynne Allison Russell, loving father of Sara Russell and Brent Russell (Laura Russell), grandfather of Alice Russell and Ferris Russell, and brother of Martha Ebright (Ron Ebright).

Mr. Russell worked for the Army as an Environmental Protection Specialist, Environmental Noise Program, and Directorate of Environmental Health Engineering. He was a member of the Aberdeen Fire Department, Inc., for 37 years, holding the lieutenant, captain, assistant chief, and battalion chief positions. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Maryland Ornithological Society. He enjoyed volunteering, traveling, hiking, birding, and Civil War history. His love for his family, country, wildlife, and giving back to the community was beyond measure. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 12-2 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 2 PM.
