Obituary for Frances Conner Hostetter (Conner)

Frances Conner Hostetter (nee Alice Frances Conner), died Friday September 27, at the Abbey Manor Assisted Living Facility in Elkton. She was 87.
Although born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a lifelong resident of Darlington, Maryland and member of the Darlington United Methodist Church. There she served on the Council of Ministries, in the Adult Fellowship, as a Sunday School Teacher and as a featured soloist in the church choir. She was a founding member and Past President of the Darlington Lioness Club and served in the Harford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed travel, gardening and flower arranging.
Mrs. Hostetter graduated from Bel Air High School in 1943 and worked as a purchasing agent at Aberdeen Proving Ground until 1960.
She was the daughter of the late Frank H. Conner and the late Alice E. Bostick Conner, and was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 48 years, Robert W. Hostetter. She is survived by a son, James R. Hostetter, his wife, Cynthia Vallina, and three grandchildren: Alex, Claire and Jack Vallina Hostetter. Also surviving are her brother-in-law E. Ralph Hostetter, his wife Edith and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, from 10-11 AM, at Darlington United Methodist Church, 2117 Shuresville Road, Darlington, MD 21034. Services will follow at 11:00 AM. The Reverend James Ridout will officiate.
