Obituary for Robert Lee Thompson

Robert Lee Thompson, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was 74.
Mr. Thompson was born in Valley Head, West Virginia, to Dorothy May Thompson and the late John R. Thompson. He was the devoted husband of 44 year to Mary Jane Thompson, loving father of Paula L. Ellison and husband Lloyd A. Ellison of Pasadena, MD, and Beverly Ann Michaels of Havre de Grace, MD. He was the adored grandfather of Robert B. Ellison and wife Jill Ellison, Cynthia D. Ward and husband Timothy Ward, and Bruce Mori and girlfriend Yvette. He was the great-grandfather of Nick, Ally, Andrew, Ian, Blake, Nathan and William. He was the dear brother of Walter Thompson and the late Leon Thompson.
Mr. Thompson served in the United States Air Force for four years. He then worked at J. L. Clark Company and Independent Can Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47 and St. John’s Episcopal Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
