Obituary for Doris Pearl "Dolly" Mason (Foy)

Doris “Dolly” Pearl (Foy) Mason of Havre de Grace, MD passed away surrounded by her loved ones, on September 29, 2014 at the Harford Memorial Hospital. She was 87. She was the loving wife of the late Herbert A. Mason, Sr.

Mrs. Mason was born in Havre de Grace, MD to the late Eustace F. and Lillian M. (Miller) Foy. She was the devoted mother to Herbert “Herb” Mason, Jr., Lewis R. Mason and
Paula “Pam” A. Mason. She was the adoring grandmother to Teresa L. (Mason) Boyd and her husband Rodney, and Patrick Mahoney. She was the great grandmother of Nicole, Ashley, Hannah and Rachel Boyd. She is survived by her sister Mildred Packard and was predeceased by her three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Mason “Dolly” was the owner of the Mason’s Tiny Tot early childhood center for more than 30 years and was blessed to have cared for more than 600 children. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, American Legion and the Soroptimist Club. She volunteered and was a leader of the Girls Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was an avid leader in the Harford Co. PTA and helped with the many school events. Dolly was one of the founding members of the Havre de Grace Parks and Recreation. For more than 36 years she taught Sunday school at the Grace Reformed Episcopal Church. Dolly was also a member of the Presbyterian Church of Havre de Grace and helped lead the Ladies Bible Study. She was an active member of the Democratic Club.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October, 9, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.

Pallbearers will be Charles Packard, Charles Packard, Jr., Fred Gillotte, Jr., William F. Foy, II, William F. Foy, III, and Joseph E. Reginaldi. Honorary pallbearers will be John Margin, Fred Gillotte, Sr., Joseph Mahoney, Patrick Mahoney and Pat Allingham.
