Obituary for Nelson E. Litzinger Jr.

Nelson Earl Litzinger, Jr., of Colora, MD, passed away on October 16, 2014. He was 64. He was born in Havre de Grace, MD, to the late Earl Nelson Litzinger and Betty Colleen Elliott Litzinger.
Mr. Litzinger was the father of Korey D. Shoop and her husband Kevin, of Pasadena, MD, and Karey R. Celio and her husband Shawn, of Fallston, MD. He was the grandfather of Makaylin Shoop, Carson Shoop, and Mandelyn Draper. He was the bother of Colleen E. Waller and her husband Richard Waller of Havre de Grace, MD. He was the uncle of Lance Waller and his wife Donna Waller of Havre de Grace, MD, and great-uncle of Mason and Graham Waller. He was predeceased by his long time companion, Layne Draper.
Mr. Litzinger worked for Perry Point VAMC as a firefighter, then worked for the transportation department and warehouse there. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was a member of the Susquehanna Hose Company Volunteer Fire Dept. for five years, and was also a member of American Legion Post 135 in Perryville, MD. He loved to fish and crab, and enjoyed working in his workshop.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.zellmanfuneralhome.com.
