Obituary for Betty Lou Cantymagli

Betty Lou Bowers Cantymagli, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Union Hospital. She was 79.
She was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina, to the late Veldon Bowers and Sina Bowers Walker. Mrs. Cantymagli was the devoted wife of 56 years to the late Albert Stanley Cantymagli. She was the loving mother of Lanny Bowers and companion Shirley Oakley of Traphill, NC, Donna Kirkendall and companion Tim Ziegler of North East, MD, Timothy Cantymagli of Havre de Grace, MD, Denna Wood and Son-in-law Keith Wood of Charlestown, MD and her late twins Michael Cantymagli and Mitchell Cantymagli. She had 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Bernice Ault of Statesville, NC, and the late Evelyn Kellum and Leora Shoemaker.
Mrs. Cantymagli was a member of the American Legion Post 135 Auxillary. Her hobbies were playing Bingo, lottery scratch-off tickets, and going to different casinos around Maryland and North Carolina to play the slot machines. She loved to go dancing! She enjoyed watching baseball, and was a dedicated Orioles fan. She loved her coffee especially with a piece of butter pecan cake. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM. Rev. James R. Yeakel, OSFS, will officiate. Interment will be held at Principio Cemetery.
