Obituary for Wanda Lorraine Schaffer (Way)
Wanda L. Schaffer of Havre de Grace, MD passed away at home on July 8, 2015. She was 81. She was the loving wife of 63 years to John M. Schaffer, Sr.
Mrs. Schaffer was born in Havre de Grace, MD to the late John M. and Emma (Baldwin) Way. She was the devoted mother of John M. Schaffer, Jr. of Havre De Grace and Michael W. Schaffer of Rising Sun. She was the grandmother to Tracy Wilkinson of Colora, MD and Caleb Schaffer of Brick, NJ. She was the adoring great-grandmother of Mycah, Maddie and Molly Wilkinson. Mrs. Schaffer was predeceased by her siblings; John M. Way, Jr., Verna M. Creswell and Beverly Clark.
Mrs. Schaffer was well loved and was passionate about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She reached out to those in need – both people and animals – throughout her life. She loved and adored her dog “Max” and was a regular supporter of the Maryland SPCA. She also was gifted with a creative / artsy side and loved growing flowers, cooking, painting art, embroidery, cross stitching and quilting.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Where a funeral will be held at 12 P.M.
Friends and Family may make contributions in her memory to the Maryland SPCA (http://www.mdspca.org/give/).
Officiating will be Pastor Ron Tabor.
Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, MD
