Obituary for John Paul Bloch

John Paul  Bloch
John Paul Bloch of Aberdeen, MD passed away surrounded by his family on August 9, 2015 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He was 66. He was the devoted husband of Karen A. Dern.

Mr. Bloch was the beloved father of Joshua Bloch and Justin Bloch and his wife Mary. He was the step-father to Melissa Weinberg-Toomey and George Weinberg and his partner Kari Gibson. He was the adoring grandfather of Molly Bloch, Preston Weinberg, Vivian Toomey, Violet Toomey, and Tyler Oppel. Mr. Bloch also has a grandchild due in October. He is survived by his brother and two sisters.

He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late John and Thelma (Koch) Bloch.

Mr. Bloch served in the United States Navy on the USS Guadalcanal LPH-7. He was an Industrial Electrician, an accomplished photographer, and an avid reader. He enjoyed crabbing, shooting pool, and cheering on the Ravens. He loved antiquing with his wife.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.

Officiating will be (CH) LTC Jerry Owens, United States Army.
