Obituary for Ira Ellis Phillips

Ira Ellis Phillips, of Aberdeen, MD, passed away on September 12, 2015. He was 74. Mr. Phillips was born in Lansing, North Carolina to William Harrison Phillips and Bessie Clyde Farmer Phillips.
He was the dear brother of Larry Phillips, Ruby Ham, Lois May Greer, Lola Jane Farmer, and Shirley Brown, all of Ashe County, NC, and the late Conley Phillips, Paul Phillips, Teddy Phillips, Charles Phillips, Harold Phillips, and Laura Virginia Lewis Coldiron. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Phillips worked as a cook at the dining facility at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 23 years. He was a former member of the Aberdeen Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM, at Baker Cemetery in Aberdeen, MD. Chaplain Rodger Stenger will officiate.
