Obituary for Gordon Boyd Mitchell

Gordon Boyd Mitchell, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on November 26, 2015. He was 95.
He was born in Philadephia, Pennsylvania, to William T. Mitchell and Mabel Idell Preston Mitchell Leighton. He served in the Maryland National Guard from 1936-1938, then the U.S. Navy from 1938-1945. Mr. Mitchell worked several jobs before becoming a Deputy U.S. Marshall from 1951-1975, and was the oldest living retired Deputy U.S. Marshall. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47, the Susquehanna Lodge of the A.F.& A.M., and the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum. He Co-owned and operated Battaglia Security & Investigative Services. He enjoyed gardening.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens. Frank McFadden will officiate.
