Obituary for George Ilgenfritz

George Morris Ilgenfritz



George Morris Ilgenfritz, of Darlington, MD, passed away on March 6, 2009. He was 89.

He was born in Darlington, the son of the late Stella Matilda Hopkins Ingenfritz, and step-son of the late Url Hopkins.

He was a 1937 Graduate of Dublin High School. He then served in the U.S. Army, 81st Calvary Reconnaissance, Squadron “M” during World War II. He served in North Africa and Italy. He retired from the Aberdeen Proving Ground as a civilian gunner. Mr. Ilgenfritz was a member of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.
A viewing will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00. Rev. Gary Seiglien will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Scarborough, Michael Price, Donald “Artie” Reeves, John Low, G. Phillip Reeves, and William V. Reeves.
Interment will be held at DarlingtonCemetery.
