Obituary for Alexander G. Miljevic

Alexander G. Miljevic, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on June 2, 2013 in Orlando, FL. He was 89.
He was born in Steelton, PA to Peter V. Miljevic and Grace D. Booher Miljevic.
He was the husband of the late Ann Miljevic. He was the loving father of Cassandra “Cassie” Gray and Peter Miljevic, grandfather of Lisa, Christopher, Peter and great-grandfather of four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Miljevic served in the U.S. Army, Company F, 4th Infantry Division, during World War II. On June 16, 1944, at age 19, he found himself storming the beaches of Omaha. During his service to his country, he received the following medals; World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge, EAME Ribbon, Three Bronze Service Stars from service on June 20, 1945, one Bronze Service Star from actions on November 16, 1944, two Overseas Service Bars, a Paratrooper Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. He served as the Commander of the VFW Lodge 8126 from 1990-93 and 1994-95.

He was always known for his generosity, a good laugh, leaving people with smiles on their faces, and his commitment to his family.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Pastor Barry M. Gray, Pastor and Head of Staff at White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, Newark, DE will officiate.
