Arthur Howard Way




Arthur Howard Way, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2012. He was 90.
He was born in Baltimore, MD to Arthur Johnson Way and Nellie Tudor Way.
He was the devoted husband of 69 years to Sarah Margaret Way, loving father of Peggy Ann Way of Joppa, MD, Lisa Lynn Logan of Havre de Grace, MD, Anna Mae Jarrett of Arizona, and John Howard Way of West Virginia. He was predeceased by two sons, Vincent L. Way and William E. Way.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two daughter-in-laws, Deborah Way of Havre de Grace, MD, and Karen Way of Loveland, Colorado.
Mr. Way served in WWII in the 45th Infantry Division, making landings in Sicily, Salerno and Anzio, Italy. He was a prisoner of war for fourteen months. Following his military service, he worked until retirement at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was involved with the Boy Scouts, Christian Men’s Fellowship, and the Young At Heart. He was also a member of First Christian Church in Havre de Grace.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington St. Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at First Christian Church, 800 Giles Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Pastor Ronald Tabor and Pastor Loren Deckard will officiate. Interment will be held at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
