Obituary for Bernadine Joan Fisher (Longacre)
Bernadine Joan Fisher (nee Longacre) age 72 of Fayetteville NC, passed away suddenly surrounded by her family on November 29,2013.
She was formally from Aberdeen MD until 1997 when she and her husband moved to Fayetteville NC.
Born in West Reading PA she was the daughter of the late Fern Mentzer and the late William Longacre.
A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and friend to all that knew her.
While in Harford county Joan worked for many years at Sewell Plastics in Havre de Grace where she was fondly nicked named Dizzy. Joan also enjoyed working at the Mess Hall at Aberdeen Proving Ground for many years.
Joan answered to many names over the years, Joan, Bernie ,Mom, Grandma, Nanny, Aunt Joanie ,Dizzy, no matter what name you used she would always greet you with a big smile and her famous laugh.
Family meant everything to Joan, she loved reminiscing about family, she loved music, dancing and her animals.
Joan is survived by her husband of 55 years, John H. Fisher Jr. of Fayetteville NC; Daughter, Connie Smythe of Chesapeake VA; Daughter, Fay Butler and husband Kelly of Fayetteville NC; Son, John H Fisher III and his wife Donna of Havre de Grace MD; Son, Todd J. Fisher and wife Becky of Edgewood MD.
Joan had 12 Grandchildren: Crystal and husband Jerry, Brandon, Tiffany, Matthew, Damian, Derek, John and wife Mami, Candace, Danielle, Brittany, Megan and Todd Jr.
and 8 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
