Obituary for Bernard F. Ditmore Jr.

Bernard Francis Ditmore, Jr.

Bernard Francis Ditmore, Jr. passed away, April 11, 2008 at HarfordMemorialHospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland. He was 75. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Patricia Elaine Ditmore (Miklos) of Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Mr. Ditmore was born in Pittsburg, PA to the Late Bernard F. and Mary (Smith) Ditmore.

He was a devoted father to Bernard F. Ditmore, III and his wife Kathleen of Bel Air, MD, Linda M. Masters and her husband Mike of Upper Marlboro, MD, Elaine Patricia Cofrancesco and her husband Mark of Havre de Grace, MD, Mark S. Ditmore and his wife Kelly of Forest Hill, MD, and Lawrence R. Ditmore and his wife Rebecca of Port Deposit, MD. He was a loving grandfather of 13: Benjamin Ditmore of Bel Air, MD, Ryan and Kyle Bem of Bel Air, MD, Gregory Bem of Ft. Riley, Kansas, David, Kristen and Daniel Masters all of Upper Marlboro, MD, Brad, Laura and Tony Cofrancesco all of Havre de Grace, MD, Samantha and Nicholas Ditmore both of Forest Hill, MD, and Alyson Ditmore of Port Deposit, MD. He was a great-grandfather of one: Alexis Bem of Ft. Riley, Kansas. He is also survived by his two sisters: Helen Perlik of Pittsburg, PA and Katherine Adams also of Pittsburg, PA.

Mr. Ditmore had retired from Upper Chesapeake Health Systems as a Chief Financial Officer after many years of service to FallstonHospital, HarfordMemorialHospital and Upper Chesapeake Health Systems, all in HarfordCounty. He had also received a degree at RobertMorrisCollege. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Havre de Grace and a former member of the Havre de Grace Rotary Club, as well as a Paul Harris Fellow. He loved gardening, sports, playing pool, traveling, woodworking, fast amusement park rides, and he was an avid Steelers Football Fan.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2008 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD 21078.

A service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 9:30am, St. Patrick Catholic Church, 615 Congress Ave., Havre de Grace, MD 21078.

Officiating will be Father William O'Brien.
