Obituary for D. Everett "Everett" Wilson Sr.

D. Everett Wilson, Sr., of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on September 19, 2013. He was 89. He was born to the late Julia B. Wilson and was a lifelong resident of Havre de Grace.

Mr. Wilson was the adoring and devoted husband of the late Anna Horton Wilson, the loving father of David Everett Wilson, Jr. and his wife Jo of Cumberland, MD, Barry Wilson and wife Leisa of Havre de Grace, MD, Cindy Wilson of Las Vegas, NV, Beth Schmidt and husband Steve of Aberdeen, MD, and Gail Wilson of Bel Air, MD. He was the adoring grandfather of Stevie Schmidt, Emily Schmidt, Bradley Brooks, Hannah Brooks, David Anderson, Melissa Nutter, Danielle Doged, and Barrie Turfano. He was also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years. He worked at Aberdeen Proving Grounds until his retirement in 1986. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Mason’s Lodge 130 here in Havre de Grace and was a member of the Boy Scouts since 1938 and was extremely active with local Troop 967. Mr. Wilson was also recognized and a recipient of the Harford County Living Treasure for the love and memories of yesteryears of growing up in Havre de Grace. He was a member of the Young at Heart Club at the Havre de Grace Activity Center. He enjoyed going to casinos and BINGO with his daughter, and telling stories from his youth about Havre de Grace. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Brooks, David Anderson, Steven Schmidt, Ed Miller, Mark Margolis and Daniel Brooks.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. Pastor Jeffrey Smith will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
