Dail A. Williams


Dail A. Williams, 94 years, a lifelong resident of Havre de Grace, MD, died September 4, 2012 at Citizen’s Care. Born on March 29, 1918, he was the son of Thomas Alfred Williams and Bird Elizabeth Jobes Williams.
He worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 37 years, retiring as a contract specialist in the Procurement Directorate. He was a member of Havre de Grace United Methodist Church. Dail volunteered for more than 40 years with Boy Scout Troop 967, in Havre de Grace. He was a Master Mason and member of Susquehanna Lodge A.F. & A.M., no. 130.
Dail is survived by Alice Grier Williams, his wife of 69 years, his two daughters: Jane W. Ball and husband Ronald, Rebecca W. Scheirer and husband John, and a son Michael D. Williams and wife Karen. He leaves behind two grandsons: David Scheirer and wife Torrey and Jeff Scheirer and wife Jessica; three granddaughters: Laura Williams Bayne and husband Ryan, Kristen Williams Colvin and husband Jeff, and Katherine Williams; and a great-grandson: Carter Bayne.
Family and friends may call at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5-8 PM, where a service honoring Dail’s life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Deer Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, Forest Hill, MD. Pastor Norman Obenshain will officiate.
