Obituary for Della Jean Lewis

Della Jean Addison Lewis



Della Jean Addison Lewis passed away on November 16, 2012 at the age of 79. She was the daughter of the late Lee Addison and Hattie Virginia McGlothlin Addison. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Clyde, and a son, Bruce. She is survived by her daughter, Diana and her friend Dee of Newark, DE, her son Jeffery and his wife Nancy and their children Rachel and Natalie of Ellicott City, MD, her son Brian and his son Keith of Havre de Grace and Perryville, MD, and her daughter Susan and her husband Brian Gehman and their sons Dylan and Levi of Zebulon, GA.

She is also survived by her sisters, Jeri Carter and her husband Les Carter of Bel Air, MD, Mickey Harrell and her husband Jerry Harrell of Birmingham, AL, her brother Ben Addison of Peru, IN, her brother Russ Addison and his wife Connie Addison of Rockford, IL, and her sister Pat Choate of Havre de Grace, MD.

Jean leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as sister and brother in-laws who she loved very much.

She was a fantastic wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister in-law and mother-in-law. Many good times were had with all the family. She was in the Air Force, worked at Edgewood Arsenal, and she worked for The Record for years. She used to love crocheting and playing bingo. She was a big Orioles fan. When the children were younger, she was a dependable volunteer for HdG Little League. She ran the snack bar at Stancill Field. Mrs. Lewis also served in the U.S. Air Force for two years.

She hadn’t been in the greatest health for several years, but she kept on going. She will be sorely missed by all of us.

A viewing will be held on Monday, November19, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Gehman, Dylan Gehman, Keith Lewis, Tony Dancy, Lee Addison, and Ted Hendricks. Levi Gehman will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
