The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Earl Kelly can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

GRATITUDE

It is with grief in our hearts, but even more gratitude. I will explain this: I live in the area, where Earl Kelly and his friends fought when the Division fought in Holland, in the fall of 1944.

Montgomery claimed that he needed infantry soldiers and he just kept the larger part of the 101st US Airborne Division to protect the area north of Nijmegen. Your brave soldiers fought in the rain and the mud of this area. It was just mean. But up to this day we are grateful for the men of the 101 and the 82 Airborne Divisions for trying to liberate our country. Many of Earl Kelly's comrade paid the supreme sacrifice.

After 70 years my wife Marion and I have NOT forgotten how they gave their all, just to liberate our beloved country. That is why the title of my story is: GRATITUDE.  Please rest assured that we will ALWAYS be grateful and we salute all those who are still alive.

May the Good Lord give them peace and eternl rest. When He should leave it to the Dutch, we would advise the Good lORD:  dEAR lORD - GIVE THEM THE BEST. For this is what they deserve.
