Elsie Anna Collison , of Havre de Grace, formerly of Baltimore, passed away August 29, 2013. She was 94 years old and was married to the late Kenning Collison. She was the loving mother of six children: Calvin and his wife Barbara of Mt. Airy, Lee and his wife Marie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dee Quinn and her husband Jack of Myrtle Beach, SC, Emmalee Old and her husband Clark of Havre de Grace, Linda Breese of Flowery Branch, GA, Bill and his wife Carol of Pheonix, AZ. She was the adored grandmother of Michael Old and his wife Jennifer of Havre de Grace, Angie Jones and her husband Ted of Havre de Grace, Amy McNamee and her husband Mac of Havre de Grace, Amanda Marcello and her husband Tony of Havre de Grace, Kelli, Derek, Laura, Karson, Kristine, Ginger, Matt, Lindsey, and Brandon. She was also the great grandmother of Alex, Taylor, V.J., Gabby, Belle, Will, Meg, Sam, Jessica, Anna, Dylan, Scott, Abigail, Connor, Olivia, Kaitlyn, and Addison and the great-great-grandmother of Jayde. Elsie’s favorite saying when speaking of her large family was “I started all of this”.
Elsie graduated from Western High School and worked for the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. She attended St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Woodlawn and and most recently Hopewell United Methodist Church in Havre de Grace. Elsie was one of the founding members of Havre de Grace Young at Heart and was given the honor of Harford County Living Legend.
The family will welcome friends on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM, at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 3602 Level Village Road, Havre de Grace, MD. Pastor Corey Sharpe will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Calvin Collison, Bill Collison, Lee Collison, Clark Old, Jack Quinn, and Michael Old.
