Gilford James Leishman, Jr.


Gilford James Leishman, Jr., of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on February 28, 2011. He was 81.
He was born in Churchville, Maryland to the late Gilford James Leishman Sr., and the late Pamela Burkentine Leishman.
He was the devoted husband of 16 years to Patsy Leishman, loving father of Gilford James Leishman, III, of Havre de Grace, Judy Stonestreet and Joyce Dickerson of Pennsylvania, Janice Oals of Martinsburg, VA, Clara Hall of Havre de Grace, MD, and the late Gail Marie Renner. He was the grandfather of Teresa Switzer, Chelsea Oals, Kyle Chesserrow, Tyler Mollleyed, and James Marshall, Jr. He was the dear brother of Michael Leishman, John Leishman, James Burkentine, Betty Privett, and the late Martha Hall.
Mr. Leishman worked at Wally’s Shipyard for 18 years, Hellmark Steel for 16 years, and has worked for Montville Taxi for the last 17 years. He was well loved by all who knew him, and loved driving his taxi cab.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 3, from 5-8 PM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, at 11:00 AM. Rev. Roger Eastridge will officiate. Interment will be held at Angel Hill Cemetery.
