I Thank God For You Mom

My mom was an amazing woman who made the ordinary extraordinary.  She always made you feel at home with her welcoming hugs and easy conversation (she never lost her Southern charm/accent even after 20 years in NJ).  You always felt special in her company.  My mom was an awesome listener too and could always make you feel better about anything with her encouraging words and wisdom about life.  Cooking was her passion and you could always find her in the kitchen.  Even family vacations spent in the Outer Banks, where the rest of us were looking for a break from cooking/cleaning you'd find my mom cooking and cleaning up for 10+ people so we could relax.  She made the best BLT's, fried chicken, stuffing with gravy, and potato soup.  My mom is the only person I know who can fold a fitted sheet in a perfect square!  She wouldn't leave my house until the laundry hamper was empty.  My mom was a true caregiver in every sense of the word.  I am who I am today because she was my mom and I thank God for all the time I had with her.  As heartbroken as I am, for there are no words to describe how much she will be missed, I am happy she is free from all her suffering and is at peace.  I will miss her infectious laugh and back scratches most of all.....and when I really miss her.... I only have to look at my girls and know she is forever with me in them.  Thank you mom for being so much to so many.....I love you!  Charlene
