Joseph Morrison Self
Joseph Morrison Self, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on January 20, 2010. He was 80.
He was born in Loch Haven, Pennsylvania to the late Luther and Annie Bettini Self.
He was the devoted husband of Anne H. Self, the loving father of John H. Self (Cary Lyford) of Denver, CO, Elizabeth L. Self of Bluebell, PA, and Paul S. Self of Gaithersburg, MD. He was the adored grandfather of four grandsons; Kellen, Ian, Ryan and Joseph. He was the brother of Clara Ozment and Marjorie King of Greensboro, NC, and the late Luther Self.

Mr. Self served as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps for 22 years, before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a graduate of Duke University and also received an MBA from Columbia University. He worked for several years for Morgan Stanley, in New York City, and spent the majority of his career as an investment banker. He was also a founder and director for Princeton Capital Management, a registered investment advisor in Princeton, New Jersey.

Mr. Self was previously a member of the University Club in New York City; a former member of Somerset Hills Golf Club in Bernardsville, New Jersey; and a parishioner of St. John’s On the Mountain in Bernardsville, New Jersey.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 23, at 10:00 AM, at St. James Episcopal Church, 3100 Monkton Road, Monkton, Maryland 21111. The Reverend Charles Barton will officiate. Interment will be held January 23 at the close.
