Obituary for Margaret Lucretia "Peg" Heins

Margaret “Peg” Lucretia Heins, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on July 28, 2014. She was 88.

She was born in Havre de Grace, MD, to Samuel Lindemore Taylor and Pauline Frederick Norman Taylor. She was the devoted wife of the late Wayne A. Heins, loving mother of Bonnie L. Kampes and husband John of Port Deposit, MD, Linda A. Wilson and husband Lester of Long Neck, DE, and Sandra P. Jones, of Long Neck, DE. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, with one more on the way. She was the dear sister of Carl L. Taylor of Menomonie Falls, Wisconsin, and the late Norma Patricia Burke.

Mrs. Heins was a co-founder of the original Lockhouse Museum and was instrumental in the saving of the Concord Point Lighthouse. She was a former girl scout leader, played softball and was an avid golfer; being one of the first members of the Swan Creek Golf and Country Club. She loved boating and watching birds, and treasured the joys of her large family.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Pastor Ron Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons; Brian Cantrell, Ron Cantrell, Travis Budnick, John Kampes, Cody Crouse, Jake Bowman and Nathan Bowman.
