Mary Alice Grier Williams, 93 years old, of Havre de Grace, MD died October 5, 2014 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, MD after suffering a stroke. She was born in Forest Hill, MD to the late Elwood Thomas and Ethel Archer Grier. She was married to Dail A. Williams for 69 years, until his death in 2012.

Mrs. Williams had worked at the Aberdeen Proving Ground as a Data Collector for weapons and development during WWII and after the war became a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church and the Maryland Genealogical Society. She volunteered for many years on the Historical Society of Harford County’s court records committee, helping to preserve important county records. She enjoyed genealogy and researching her family history.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Jane and Ronald Ball, Rebecca and John Scheirer, and Michael and Karen Williams. She had 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A visitation will occur on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 1 PM to 2 PM at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Where a funeral service will be held at 2 PM. Interment will be at Deer Creek Methodist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Norman Obenshain.
