Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Baker
Mary Elizabeth " Liz" Baker of Aberdeen, MD, passed away, May 6, 2008, at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havrede Grace, Maryland.
Mrs. Baker was born in Churchville, MD to the Late William Leonard and Elizabeth Margaret (Kloid) Singleton. She was the beloved wife of the Late Harvey Baker. Mrs. Baker was 82 years old.
She was the devoted mother to George P. Singleton and his wife Anga of Asheboro, NC, Virginia S. Corona and her husband Angelo of Joppa, MD and Betty Henson of Jamestown, NY. She was a loving grandmother of 7: William A. Fenner of Belcamp, MD, Justin W. Fenner of Havrede Grace, MD, Kelly N. Fenner of Savannah, GA, Michael S. Singleton of Joppatown, MD, Beth A. Tirella of Scranton, PA, Jared Henson of Jamestown, NY and the Late Melanie Hinson. She was also a great grandmother of 14.
Mrs. Baker had retired as a desk clerk after more than 27 years of service for the Harford Lanes in Aberdeen, MD. She was also an avid bowler and belonged to several leagues. She was a past president of the HarfordCounty Womens Bowling Association (HCWBA) and in 1978 became the first Life Member. Her proudest accomplishment was being inducted into the HCWBA Hall of Fame in 1994. She also enjoyed BINGO and was wonderful at crocheting. She made sure everyone in her family has something special crocheted for them.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havrede Grace, Maryland.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10 AM at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.
Interment will be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Cemetery in Churchville, Maryland.
Officiating will be Ken Tipton.
