Obituary for Mary E. Bradford

Mary Elizabeth Reeves Bradford



Mary Elizabeth Reeves Bradford, of Aberdeen, MD, passed away on January 27, 2013. She was 91.
Mrs. Bradford was born in Rural Retreat, Virginia to the late Virgil Reeves and Fannie Bell Bennington Reeves. She was the devoted wife to the late George Webster Bradford. She was the loving mother of Gerald “Jerry” Bradford of Aberdeen, MD, George William Bradford and his wife Holly Exley Bradford of Enterprise, Alabama, Nancy Kay Cullum and her husband Mitchell “Mitch” Cullum of Elkton, MD, and Jean Lyons and her husband Roger Lyons, Sr., of Havre de Grace, MD. She was the adored grandmother of Dana Blum, Blair Taylor, Joie Bradford, Roger Lyons, Jr., and Kim Lyons. Mrs. Bradford had 7 great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Lucille Vaught of Rural Retreat, VA, and the late Willard “Jeff” Reeves, Bertie Haywood, Helen Miller, and Ruth Williams.

Mrs. Bradford was a member of Weslyan Chapel and was active with Pollyanna at Hopewell United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and working in her yard. She was also a wonderful cook.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Pastor Corey Sharpe will officiate. Interment will be held at Weslyan Cemetery, Aberdeen, MD.

Roger Lyons, Sr., Roger Lyons, Jr., Carl Ruth, Lewis Kefauver, Robert Worthington, and Barton Hamilton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Abbi Lyons, Mallory Lyons, Alexzandra Smith and Marissa Blattner.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Weslyan Chapel, 409 North Paradise Road, Aberdeen, MD 21001.
