Ralph Joseph Liberatore



Ralph Joseph Liberatore, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on November 10, 2011. He was 84.
He was born in Havre de Grace, to the late Pasquale Liberatore and Lucia Digulio Liberatore.
He was the loving husband of 56 years to Lillian Elizabeth Mae Liberatore. He was the devoted father of Ralph J. Liberatore, II, and his wife Gail of Bear, DE, and Patricia Ann Liberatore-Wilson of Aberdeen, MD. He was the adored grandfather of Gregory Wilson, Jr., Maria Simon, Jessica Wilson, Danielle Belford, and Patrick Liberatore, and the great-grandfather of Harlie Wilson, Ryder Wilson, Kayla Belford, and Alexandria Johnston. He was the brother of Frank Liberatore of Havre de Grace, MD, and Rosalie Duncan of Colona, IL, and the late Joseph Liberatore, Arthur Liberatore, Mary Scott and Helen Liberatore.

Mr. Liberatore served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is an alumni of the Virginia Military Institute. He worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground until retirement. He was a member of VFW Post 8126, American Legion Post 47, Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus 2002, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer, loved to read, and enjoyed helping at church and volunteering at Perry Point VAMC. He absolutely loved the town of Havre de Grace. He was a proud Italian, devoted American.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 17, from 2-4 and 6-8 at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, November 18, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Father William J. O’Brien will officiate. Interment will be held at Mt. Erin Cemetery. Pallbearers will Ralph J. Liberatore, II, Patrick Liberatore, Frank Liberatore, Greg Wilson, Kevin Simon, and Nick Belford. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Vigna and John Correri.
Contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cemetery Fund, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
