Obituary for Robert F. Barnes Sr.

Robert F. Barnes, Sr., of Abingdon, MD, passed away on May 24, 2014. He was 69.
Mr. Barnes was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late William Spicer and Florence Louise Hutton Spicer. He was the devoted husband of the late Shirley Ann Barnes, loving father of Robert F. Barnes, Jr.; and wife Lorie of Conowingo, MD, and Roger W. Barnes of Abingdon, MD. He was the adored grandfather of Elizabeth Trap, Tyler Barnes, Brianna Barnes and Victoria Barnes. He was the dear brother of Roger Hutton, William Barnes, Joann Acker, Shirley Hensley and the late Betty Dutton.

Mr. Barnes served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion in Edgewood. He loved bowling and was a member of the U.S.B.C. He enjoyed watching the Ravens and Orioles as well as NASCAR. He loved old cars, especially ’57 Chevys, and enjoyed going to car shows.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M., at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
