Ruth Mae Spencer

Ruth Mae Spencer of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 28th, 2009. She was 83.

She was born in Allentown, PA to the Late Nathan H. and Mabel A. (Brobst) Kleckner. She was a loving mother to Nathan E. “Buzzy” Spencer and his wife Linda of Rising Sun, MD, F. Ray Spencer and his wife Peggy of Perryville, MD, S. Elaine Jones and her husband Farrell of Grapevine, TX and Brenda M. Zellman and her husband Fred of Rising Sun, MD. She was the grandmother of six:
Dawn E. Spencer- Berry, Kimberly L. Hollis, Torri R. White, Sarah M. Spencer, Amanda R. Spencer and her fiancé Tim E. Warfield and F. Ray Spencer, II. She was a devoted great-grandmother of seven. She was the sister to Madeline Raab of Allentown, PA, Jeanette Silfies of Tullahoma, TN and the Late Betty Wieder.

Ms. Spencer had lived and raised her children in Port Deposit, MD. She was the first Unit Clerk at HarfordMemorialHospital and had retired from the Hospital. Once retiring she spent more than 32 years in Havre de Grace, MD. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Havre de Grace, MD. She enjoyed spending time with the Young at Heart Club in Havre de Grace. She attended the Red Hat Society functions. She enjoyed cooking and baking following the Pennsylvania Dutch style, which fed many of her ailing neighbors and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 9 AM to 11 Am, at the First Christian Church, 800 Giles Street, Havre de Grace, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM.

A Private interment will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in LancasterCounty.

Officiating will be Pastor Ron Tabor.
