Virginia Whitelock Dougherty


Virginia Whitelock Dougherty of North East, Maryland passed away on December 23, 2010 at home. She was 86.
She was born in Fallston, Maryland to the late Walter Viar and Beulah Flowers Viar Ward.
She was the wife of the late Oswald L. Caine and the late Edward D. Dougherty, II. She is survived by her children Robert L. Caine, Thomas E. Caine and his wife Brenda G. Caine of Havre de Grace, MD, Mary Pat Caine and Edward D. Dougherty, III. of North East, MD, and the late Nancy Brown Caine and Karen Caine.
She was the grandmother of Thomas Caine, Jr., Christopher Caine and his wife Shawna, Edward D. Dougherty, IV, Wayne Dougherty, Virginia Wright, Christine Whitt, and the late Matthew R. Caine, and was the great-grandmother of 17. She is survived by two siblings, Walter Viar and Anne Short of Salisbury, MD, numerous nieces and nephews as well as her friend of over 30 years Herbert Baldwin.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 29, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, at Bethel Apostolic Church, 21 North Earlton Road Ext., Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. Pastor Buddy Flosser will officiate. Interment will be held at Fallston United Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Caine, Sr., Thomas Caine, Jr., Christopher Caine, Robert Caine, Edward D. Dougherty, III and Herbert Baldwin.
