Obituary for Wayne Preston Keen

Wayne Preston Keen
Wayne Preston Keen, of Havre de Grace, passed away on September 25, 2009. He was 86.
He was born on Spesutia Island to the late Henry Maxwell Keen and the late Lillian Mae Preston Keen.
Mr. Keen served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his service to his country, he was a commercial waterman. He was the loving husband of the late Mildred Ansalvish Keen, the devoted father of Linda Pyle of Port Deposit, MD, Vicki Ferguson and Brenda Keen of Havre de Grace, and Wendy Keen of Lakeland, Florida, and step- father of Joanne Vesley of Winter Haven, Florida, Carol Sawyer of Edgewood, Maryland, Suzy Cunnngham of Port Deposit, MD, and Patricia Canfield of North East, MD. He was the brother of Alvin Keen of Perryville, MD, and to the late Jack Keen, Henry Maxwell Keen, Jr., Thelma Downin, Marjorie “Tippy” Green, Audrey Sutherland and Jean Thornell. He is survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by one grandchild.
Mr. Keen enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and hunting. He was a former member of the Harford-Cecil Emergency Team CB Club.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 29, from 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Chaplain Lauretta Halstead will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lennie Ferguson, Larry Morris, Bobby Keen, Johnny Dry, Harvey Cunningham, and Paul Gordon, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leonard Ferguson, III, Michael Crawford, Paul Bennington, and Larry Wilson.

The family would like to thank Lauretta, Julie, Kim, and June for the exceptional and loving care given to Mr. Keen during his illness.
