Willie Katherine Crownover of Elkton, MD passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, November 17, 2013. She was 82. She was born in New Hall,West Virginia to the Late James B. and Ida May Bolen Whittaker . She was the loving wife of the late Max Crownover. Mrs. Crownover was the devoted mother to Raymond James Crownover, Thomas Neil Crownover, Carolyn Sue Pomeroy and Charles Edward Crownover. She was the adoring grandmother to Nina M. Pomeroy, Tony M. Pomeroy, Sandy M. Pomeroy, Alexis V. Crownover, Chelsea C. Crownover, June M. Crownover Bibey and Thomas J. Crownover. She was the great-grandmother of Sarah A. Johnson, Morgan A. Johnson, Michael W. Johnson, Alissa M. Johnson, Elijah J. Johnson, Aaliyah K. Warren, Isis R. Warren, Rebecca L. Bibey and Emmerson P. Crownover. She was the sister of Roy Whittaker and the late Woodrow Whittaker and Frieda Atkins. Mrs. Crownover had worked at a Nurses Aide for many years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and planting in her flower beds. She was devoted to her church and her church family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the River City Baptist Church, 312 Craigtown Road, Port Deposit, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Willie Walton. In lieu of flowers family is asking for donations to be made to the Zellman Funeral Home, c/o Crownover & Pomeroy Family, 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
