Obituary for Paul John Howshall

Paul  John   Howshall
Henry Paul John Howshall aka “Paul Howshall”, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on July 22, 2014 at the age of 74. Mr. Howshall was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Henry P. Howshall and Vera K. Howshall.

He was the loving devoted husband of 25 years to Elizabeth “Liz” Arango-Howshall and loving “dog father” to Shelby Howshall.

He is survived by his children, Paul John Howshall, Jr., Joan Howshall, Eric D. Howshall and his wife Melissa Howshall, Marc A. Howshall and fiancé Anita, of Bangor, PA, Craig Howshall of Philadelphia, PA.


His was the grandfather of Sarah Howshall, Casey Howshall, Emily White, Zachary White, Craig Howshall, Jr., Christopher Howshall, Rachel Howshall, Hannah Howshall, Hayley Howshall, and Hunter Howshall. He was the brother Judith Howshall and Veronica Howshall.

Mr. Howshall was a United States Navy Veteran who served aboard the CVA-11, U.S.S. Intrepid. Mr. Howshall was a Philadelphia Police Officer for 15 years. Upon the decommission of the U.S.S. Intrepid Mr. Howshall became the Public Relations Director for the Intrepid-Sea-Air-Space Museum, N.Y.C. where he met his wife, Liz.

Paul J. Howshall was a Professional Jazz Trumpeter, Music Composer, Vocalist and Photographer. Mr. and Mrs. Howshall own The Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies in Havre de Grace.

Mr. Howshall was a member of the Susquehanna Lodge 130 AF&AM, the Fraternal Order of Police, Friends of Gettysburg, USS Intrepid Association, Navy League of the United States and A.S.C.A.P. He was passionate about the arts and his music. He loved reading, writing, photography, history, hunting and nature.

Services will be private.
