Obituary for René Arthur Lambert

René  Arthur  Lambert
René A. Lambert passed away at his home surrounded by his family on February 28, 2015. He was 85. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary (Clark) Lambert.

Mr. Lambert was born in Massena, NY to the late Rene and Nora (Dumas) Lambert.
He was the devoted father of Karen L. Gorsuch and her husband Scott of Havre de Grace, MD, Mark A. Lambert and John M. Lambert and his wife Linda of Whiteford, MD. He was the adoring grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of six. Mr. Lambert is also survived by his brother Leonard Lambert of Wallkill, NY.

After completion of High School, he entered the Clarkson University, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. Upon College graduation he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Aberdeen Proving Ground at the Aberdeen Test Center for more than 32 years. He was involved in the Deer Creek Watershed Association and was a former Docent of the Lock House Museum. He volunteered as a Little League Manager for Havre de Grace and was also a Little League Coach for Churchville. He was a member of the Havre de Grace City Council, the Havre de Grace Historic Commission, the Havre de Grace Board of Appeals and the Havre de Grace Planning Commission. He was on the Board of Directors at the St. John’s Towers in Havre de Grace. He was awarded a Key to the City of Havre de Grace for his many years of dedicated service. He also enjoyed old home restoration.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 12 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD.

Friends and Family may make a contribution in his memory to the Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House, 817 Conesteo Street, Havre de Grace, MD or the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum, 215 Giles Street, Havre de Grace, MD.
