Obituary for Rudolph "Rudy" Dabran

Rudolph “Rudy” Dabran, 78, devoted husband of Mildred “Millie” Dabran gracefully passed away on March 5, 2014 in Havre de Grace MD surrounded by his wife and children. He is survived by his wife, his children Mark, Melania, Edward, Catherine and their spouses, and many grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Edward and his family.
Rudy was born in Akron, OH moving at a young age to Republic, PA. After graduating from Redstone High School (‘53), he moved to Cleveland, OH where he met and married his wife Millie. Rudy worked for several international construction companies on mega-projects throughout the US, including Jacksonville, FL; Merrimack, N; Monroe, MI; and a number of years in Saudi Arabia. Retiring in Maryland, he became an accomplished businessman; Rudy owned and operated Rita’s Italian Ice in HdG and three other locations.
Rudy created exceptional life memories for his wife and family. He independently pioneered each chapter of his life’s journey and he’s a man to remember: Risks Taken, Tobacco Picked, Hoodlums Tamed, Scouts Led, Pins Bowled, Roads Travelled, Ships Captained , Nukes Built, Oceans Crossed, Saudis Visited, Homes Perfected, Children Reared, Water Frozen, West Explored, Respect Earned, Laughter Shared, Love Given!
What a long amazing trip it’s been.
He will be greatly missed. Services will be held this Sunday March 9 at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD, from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD will be held Monday March 10, 2014 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage contributions to The Independence Fund, In Memory of Rudolph Dabran, 32379 Collection Center Drive, Chicago, IL 60693-0323, for the purchase of a tract chair for a needy Wounded Warrior on behalf of Rudy.
