The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Barker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

NEPHEW

Jimmy's father, Clarence, was my half-brother.  Jimmy spent a lot of time on my father's farm in Grayson County, VA after he got out of the service.  He also spent time with cousins there.  There is a story that Jimmy was a good diver and rescued some people out of the New River in the area.  Jimmy had a very charasmatic personality and loved to be around people.  I believe he trusted in Jesus as his Saviour and we will all meet again on the other side of this life in heaven.

I was disappointed in whoever wrote his obituary that my niece who is also Jimmy's oldest sister, Virginia, was left out.  I don't know who Betty is.  She is not Jimmy's sister.  Perhaps whoever wrote the obituary did not know the family very well.  Jimmy was Virginia's little brother and she loved him very much.
