Obituary for Edith Mary Dry (Bungori)
Edith Mary Dry nee Bungori, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on October 25, 2013. She was 97.
Mrs. Dry was born on March 15, 1916, in Havre de Grace, MD to Sabatino Bungori and Anna Maria Cucci Bungori. She was the wife of the late John “Jack” Dry and was the loving mother of Joyce North of Fort Lauderdale, FL and John Bowers of Duncan, OK. Edith was the adored grandmother of Veronica Lynne Schilling of Ft. Lauderdale, Victoria Lee North of Seattle, WA and Jason Coulter Bowers of Wellington, FL. She was great-grandmother of Nicholas Schilling, Walker, Nathaniel and Joshua Caplan, and Alexander Bowers. Edith was the dear sister of Josephine Casimo of Aberdeen, MD, the late Lillian Alexander, NE MD, Carrie Fulco of Dallas, TX, Paul Bungori and Samuel Bungori of Havre de Grace, MD.
Of Italian heritage, Edith loved growing up in Havre de Grace in an Italian neighborhood surrounded by family and friends. Holiday dinners and family gatherings were her favorite and happiest of times because everyone came together. Her feistiness and love of dancing guided her through her life.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 12:00- 2:00 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Mt. Erin Cemetery. Father William J. O’Brien will officiate.
